New Sled

Nana and Papa brought up Jacob's sled from when he was a kid. Jacob strapped on a tote and put Gracie in it for a ride this morning.
They went all over the neighborhood!
Gracie seemed to enjoy it!
Yes, she is wearing socks on her hands because we lost one mitten....

My favorite aunt and uncle!

Aunt Lindsay and Uncle Andy gave Gracie this cool new Minnie Mouse.

Pretty!

We are teaching Grace that "pretties" should be worn and not ripped off the minute Mommy puts them on. I found her sitting in the corner saying "pretty, pretty, pretty" and putting on headbands and necklaces.

First Dentist Visit

Gracie went for her first dental visit. She wasn't eager to open her mouth for Dr. John but eventually he got a peek at all her chompers. They were just checking for symmetry, color, and texture. She'll have her first cleaning when she's three.

Happy New Year!

Christmas ER Trip

On Christmas Eve morning Grace had to go to the ER. Thursday night she started running a fever. By 12:30 am she was running a fever of 105.0. We called the hospital and they suggested packing her armpits and groin with cold washcloths and giving her baby Motrin and calling back in 1 hour. In an hour her temp. was down to 103.0. They said as long as it stayed down she was fine but if it went back up to bring her in. Within a few hours it was back up. At 6:30 am we took her to Bryan LGH East. It turns out she has a really bad ear infection. She was given an antibiotic and a pain med. prescription. Needless to say she wasn't herself on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day but still seemed to enjoy the festivities.

Christmas!

Grace watching for Santa...
Cutie!
Santa can't go wrong with snacks!

Gracie had a wagon full of gifts on Christmas morning.

Christmas Gifts

Grace got a Cozy Coupe from her Grammy and Grandpa Beil. She loves being pushed around in it.
Grace got foam letters for the bath from Santa. She's so smart she's already spelling with them!!
Daddy refinished his old wagon for Grace for Christmas. Grace and her new horse from Andy and Lindsay went for a ride on Christmas morning.

Grace got an electronic fish tank for Christmas. This kind plugs in and never needs cleaning!!

Christmas at Great Grandma's

Grace got to see Santa and Mrs. Clause when she visited Great Grandma at The Legacy. We tried to get a picture with just Grace and Santa but she screamed so Mommy had to get in the picture.
We tried again with Daddy but she still wasn't fond of that bearded guy!
After the traumatic visit with Santa Gracie got to decorate a paper Christmas tree with her Nana and Papa.

Grace LOVES lights so Christmas trees are awesome!

Grace's Vocabulary

Grace's vocabulary has really taken off in the last few weeks. She can repeat just about anything we say. Here is a list of words she uses on her own...

Mommy {she uses this when she's in a good mood}
Daddy
Lights {sounds like "ites"}
Tree {sounds like "tee"}
Hi
Bye-Bye
Woof-Woof {for dog}
No-no-no-no-no {she now shakes her head in addition to saying it}
Please {sounds like "peas"}
Read {sounds like "ead"}
mmm {means "yummy"}
ahhh {is used for everything else she can't say}

Words Gracie can sign using baby sign language...

please
milk
all done
cereal
eat
toothbrush

hot

Grace's Latest Ornament...

Grace REALLY loves adding her own "ornaments" to the tree. The other night I was cleaning up the living room before going to bed and I could only find one of her shoes. I finally decided she could just wear other shoes until it showed up. When I went to unplug the tree I found the other shoe...

Decorating for Christmas

On Saturday Gracie "helped" decorate for Christmas. First she unwrapped the balls and we learned that if you chew on Christmas balls the color and glitter will come off.
Then she broke the nose off Mommy's snowman.
Next she decided the tree needed some tissue paper.
When Mommy finished cleaning up she noticed Gracie added one more touch to the tree.
Last she helped daddy put the ornaments on the baby tree for her room. We got all the decorating done. We only put ornaments on the top half of the tree in the living room. Between the cat and Gracie we decided low ornaments were a bad idea. Gracie thinks the lack of ornaments on the bottom of the tree is so that she can add her toys and stuffed animals to the tree... cute!

Thanksgiving

Aunt Lindsay let me try on her boots.
I played with my second cousin Dean. I gave him lots of kisses!

First Snow Experience!

Last winter Grace was always in her infant seat covered with a blanket so we realized this is probably the first time she has experienced snow.

She just learned to walk and all this winter gear is adding to the challenge!

Grace's Procedure

Grace had a procedure this week at St. Elizabeth Hospital. We are still battling digestive issues that she has had since birth. We have two issues we are attempting to fix. 1. Why does she not handle milk or soy milk? 2. Why does she need Mirilax every day just to poop? The procedure this week was to eliminate the possibility of malformed nerves that transmit signals to her brain to poop. Thankfully the results were normal and THAT isn't the issue. The next step is to gradually introduce Lactaid milk and see if she tolerates it. When she is two years old we will pursue further testing that will determine allergies or intolerances to certain foods. For now we will continue to use Alimentum formula and Mirilax. If it makes her happy and keeps her growing that's all we care about right now!

Bows are Pretty!

We are trying to convince Gracie that bows are "pretty" and she should leave them in her hair. Even Grandpa is in on the attempts to convince her.

Trick or Treating at Uncle Andy's Office Friday Oct. 29th

Grandpa and Uncle Andy's office does trick or treating at their business. Grace enjoyed finding the buckets of candy in each office. The president of the company dressed up and had a smoke machine and everything... It was cool until it set of the smoke alarms and the firemen came. We teased them that their firemen costumes looked authentic!
