Why the hat Mommy???

Gracie is sporting a hat these days. She got a strange lump on her head which turned red and started peeling. Jacob and I took her to the dr. and it turns out she has ringworm. She's wearing a hat to prevent spreading to others. The dr. said it's very unusual to see it in infants because they don't come in contact with as many infected surfaces and people as adults. We're waiting on a lab test on her skin to confirm the diagnosis because they don't want to prescribe an antibiotic cream without a lab confirmation since she is so young.

Aren't I the cutest rabbit ever?

My Aunt Lindsay and Uncle Andy Love Me!!

Aunt Lindsay and Uncle Andy gave me this super soft bunny pillow and Aunt Lindsay made me these letters to hang on my bedroom wall. They must love me lots to spend that much time on my first Christmas gift!!

I was on Santa's good list!

Grammy and Grandpa Beil went a little nuts for Grace's first Christmas. She got a big penguin pillow to watch Penguin Hockey with Daddy, two ornaments, a mobile for her crib, a new outfit, a baby doll, a book of nursery rhymes, bibs, a pair of tights, a rattle, a stocking holder, baby q-tips, and a stuffed lamb.

We Love Grandpa!

Play Date with Sierra

Over Thanksgiving break Grace and I visited with a good friend Laura and her baby Sierra. Laura is the oldest daughter of the family I used to nanny for. She and her husband Zach live in South Carolina with their daughter Sierra who is about 6 mo. old. Sierra was asleep most of our visit but they got to meet before we left.

Snow Day Smiles

Lincoln Public Schools was closed today 12-8-09 so Mommy and Daddy got to stay home with Gracie. She was up at 5:00am. Apparently she doesn't understand the concept of sleeping in on snow days. She was a very happy girl this morning and Mommy got these shots of her smiles. She has that smiling thing figured out! She's just starting to giggle!

First ER Trip

Gracie had her first trip to the ER last night. She has been crabby for a few days and really restless at night. All day yesterday she would cry and scream and scrunch up in pain. I thought she was just constipated so I tried lots of little tricks the dr. recommended, like apple juice and a bath and a suppository but nothing helped. By 9:00pm last night she was screaming almost non-stop and in incredible pain so the dr. said to take her to the ER. It turns out she is having a bad reaction to her formula which has a lot of iron in it. We switched her to a new formula and she is doing much better today. We also give her frequent suppositories and gas drops to help her be successful with her poopies. I'm not sure who the trip to the ER was more traumatic for, Gracie or Mommy!
