Sick Gracie

Gracie has been sick since Tuesday with a fever, runny nose, sneezing, runny diapers, etc. We initially thought she was just teething but Mommy finally took her to the dr. today {Saturday}. She just has a bad cold on top of teething. Grace is normally a great sleeper and will sleep 7pm-6am without waking. Since Tuesday she only sleeps 20 min. at a time and wakes up SCREAMING. Last night Mommy sat up with her until 4am. Grace hates teething rings and Baby Orajel doesn't work worth a darn so... let's pray those teeth get through soon!

"Gracie Where Are You?"

Daddy was "watching" Gracie Saturday evening when he suddenly couldn't find her. He could hear her but couldn't see her... She found a new place to play behind the couch. Mommy had moved the couch slightly away from the wall because it was leaving red marks on the wall. Apparently Grace thought it was so she could play behind it.

Happy Birthday Uncle Andy!

Grace took Uncle Andy a candy bouquet with balloons to his office for his birthday on Wednesday.

Children's Museum

I had a play date with my friend Jonah at the Children's Museum. Jonah took Baby Sign Language with me. He is 8 days younger than me and lives just a few blocks away. His mommy used to teach with my mommy before she had Jonah. We had so much fun!

New Hang-Out

Grace's new favorite hang-out is the bottom shelf of our coffee table.
She has this amazing ability to find everything that ISN'T a toy to play with.

First Toothbrush!

Now that Gracie is getting more teeth we got her a baby toothbrush and baby toothpaste.
She really enjoyed brushing her teeth and watching herself in the bathroom mirror.
She was super upset when I took the toothbrush away!

First Bubble Bath!

Daddy came home from the store with baby bubble bath so of course we had to take a bath to test it out...Grace loved it!

My New Suit!

Road Trip!

Grace, Mommy, and Grammy went to K.C. for a baby shower and stayed all night in a hotel. Grace got us there in record time {she's a bit of a speeder!} She also loved the pool at the hotel.

I'm up Mom!

Grace can now pull herself up in her crib! I took this pic. the first time found she could do this.

First Word

Grace said her first word on Sunday night... "mama". I'm constantly asking Grace, "Who's that?" and then telling her, "Say mama" or "Say dada" etc. Last night when I was changing her diaper I asked her "Who's this?" and pointed to myself. When I said, "Say mama" she responded "mama". I thought maybe it was a fluke since she often babbles "mamamamama." I asked her again and again and each time she responded just "mama". This morning {Monday} I asked her again and got the same response so we're counting it as her first word. Needless to say.... Mama is thrilled!

Big Girl!

Our big girl can now pull herself up on the gate at the top of our stairs. We are practicing standing on flat feet. Right now she likes to stand on her tip toes. She also learned to sit herself back up. She sat herself back up for the first time Thursday morning and is now a pro at it. She still uses an army crawl to move around. The army crawl takes a lot of energy so if she has to go too far she resorts back to rolling. We've been trying to convince her that actual crawling would be a lot easier and a more efficient use of her energy but so far she isn't convinced. Just this week she has started getting up on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. I imagine it won't be long and she'll have the crawling thing figured out. It's amazing how fast she learns new skills!

Has Anyone Seen My Puff?

I was enjoying a delicious puff but it disappeared. Does anyone see my puff?
Did you say it is on my nose? That's silly! How did it get there?

Star City Shores

Grace, Mommy, and Aunt Lindsay spent Friday afternoon at the local water park. Grace loved watching all the kids.

Little Helper

The other morning Mommy woke up to find that Grace had already "read" the newspaper with Daddy. Later that morning Grace was playing in the living room while Mommy made a salad for a potluck dinner. Mommy heard the TV volume going up and down and the channels changing so she went in to take the remote away from Grace and found that Grace had downloaded a movie from the Pay-Per-View channel for $5.99. The TV remote now goes up a little higher.

July 3rd

On July 3rd our neighborhood had a kid parade. Kids decorated their bikes, scooters, strollers, etc. and paraded around the block. Grace enjoyed being in the parade. Grammy, Grandpa, Aunt Lindsay, and Uncle Andy were all there to cheer for Grace.

Fourth of July

On the 4th of July we traveled to Hebron to see Jacob's parents. In the afternoon we went to Jacob's Aunt Rose and Uncle Luke's farm. Grace had lots of fun with the other little kids that were there. Here are some of her favorite activities from the day...
