20 week belly

I am officially half-way done cooking our little baby. I am 20 weeks as of Friday May 22nd. 20 more weeks to go. My belly is growing every day. My belly button is starting to pop which is a strange feeling. Baby also starting kicking and Jacob felt it for the first time this week. It likes to kick and punch me at night which is lovely when I'm trying to sleep. Only 11 more days until our ultra-sound to tell us the gender. The results of the blog poll tell us we're having a girl. In all my dreams we have a girl but we'll see...

Geocaching Baby

Jacob found this Geocaching baby onsie online. He can't wait until the baby is old enough to go geocaching with him. The initials on Jacob's shirt stand for Thanks For The Cache {TFTC}. He got that t-shirt for his birthday.

Mother's Day

Jacob helped make this first Mother's Day very special by giving me these flowers. We celebrated with our parents and grandparents by having lunch at Kim and Jo Beil's house.

My great find on ebay!  Now the little one can watch Penguins hockey with me.  I wanted to get the jersey but that can wait till she/he is older.  The score is 2-2 in the beginning of the 3rd.  GO PENS!

Baby On The Move

Our baby made it known for the first time Friday night that it is really in there! I was trying to go to sleep and kept sensing the strangest feelings in my belly. It moved from one side of my belly to the other and felt like a tiny paint brush painting the inside of my belly. After I finally realized what it was it was really exciting and kind of weird. I feel the baby move most at night. I suppose it's because that's when I'm the stillest and paying the most attention. My mom said before long I won't have to wonder if it's the baby or not. It'll kick so hard it'll be obvious. My brother said maybe it really does have a paint brush in there and it'll be an artist.

I'm currently on leave from work for three weeks. One week down... two to go. I was so sick and weak that my dr. and I decided I needed to take it easy for a while. At my four month checkup I was down under my prepregnancy weight so I'm trying hard to rest and keep everything down so I gain weight by my next checkup {which is this coming Wednesday}. I've never had a problem gaining weight. It seems strange to have a dr. get on me about needing to gain more weight. The rest seems to be helping. I haven't been sick in a week {a major record in this pregnancy}. We seem to have found a winning combination of medication and as long as I rest I do good. I go back to work on the 18th of May and will have 13 days of teaching before summer. This summer I am working on my graduate degree but my class is all online. That means I don't have to try and find parking on campus and walk six blocks when I'm seven months pregnant! I can work from the comfort of my airconditioned home!

High Chair Excitement

We got a high chair off Craig's List last weekend. For those of you unfamiliar with Craig's List it's a free website where you can post items you want to sell and people in your town can view the items and call you to buy them. It's like online garage sales! It's fabulous! The high chair is an Eddie Bauer wooden high chair with an adjustable plastic tray! We were super excited and got it for only 60 dollars which is a great deal since I looked at it new for over 200 dollars. We love that it has a gray seat cover so we can use it for a girl or boy since we don't know what we are having yet. We find out June 1st at our next ultrasound. If you haven't voted for the gender yet be sure to do so by June 1st when we reveal if we're having a little Grace Elizabeth or a William John. I think we are safe with William John. It looks like most people are willing to call it "Will" which is the nickname we want. Of course my brother insists he is calling it "Little Willy." He only says that because he knows it will drive the mommy crazy!

14 weeks

As of Friday April 10th Baby and I are 14 weeks along. We completed the first week in our second trimester. Only 26 more weeks to go! I continue to be VERY sick around the clock. My dr. has tried every drug in the book. Occasionally I have to go to the hospital for an IV infusion of fluids, anti-nausea medicine, etc. I usually feel better for a few days after that. I am back up to my pre-pregnancy weight which is good! I had lost some weight the first three months. Even though I haven't gained any weight I am still beginning to show. I have transitioned to maternity pants, which Jacob thinks are amazingly hot! They have a belly band that go all the way up to my chest! He teases me that they look like granny pants! I turned 30 on Wednesday so I guess that's the magic age you switch to old lady pants! Jacob is going to try and take weekly pictures of my growing belly. Here is my baby bump at 14 weeks.
